Vietnamese philanthropist donates 750,000 masks, PPE sets for Filipino frontliners

Benevolence among the South East Asian nations continue as a Vietnamese businessman handed over 750,000 masks as well as personal protective equipment to the Department of Foreign Affairs in the Philippines to help aid the country’s frontliners in their battle to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
DFA Secretary Teodoro Locsin personally received the donations that came from Johnathan Hanh Nguyen through his son IPPG-Philippines President Henry Serrano Ngyuen.
“Today, Secretary (Teodoro Locsin Jr.) received over 750,000 masks and PPE (sets) donated by Vietnamese business tycoon and well-known philanthropist, Mr. Johnathan Hanh Nguyen, to help protect DFA’s front-liners against Covid-19,” the department said over Twitter.
All donated goods will be used for DFA frontliners who are assisting OFWs in their repatriation processes, as well as officials who are providing help for stranded foreign nationals in the country.
The donation, received by Locsin at the DFA office, arrived in Manila via a chartered flight arranged by Nguyen and was made possible through the assistance of the Department of Finance, Bureau of Customs, and other government agencies.
