Residents from all over the UAE sang the country’s National Anthem together from their balconies on April 17 to show their support to the frontliners and the leaders in the fight against coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
The netizens from Abu Dhabi all the way to the Northern Emirates, including Dubai and Ajman, shared to The Filipino Times videos of expats singing the UAE’s National Anthem as part of the ‘Together We Chant for UAE’ initiative, which aims to boost morale and spread positivity among the community.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, earlier noted that he got emotional when he heard residents singing the UAE’s national anthem from their homes during the national disinfection program.
“The UAE is proud of our citizens and residents living on our soil. We are proud they (residents) share with us our identity. I was moved to tears when I heard our residents chanting the National Anthem of the UAE on social media platforms as the National Disinfection Programme was being carried out nationwide,” Sheikh Mohamed had said.
