Saudi Arabia on Wednesday confirmed 24 new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), raising its number of infected cases to 45, Saudi Press Agency reported.
The ministry said that the first two new cases are Saudi citizens, who were placed under quarantine upon their return from Iraq.
The third case is a 12-year-old Saudi child who had contact with her grandfather who tested positive to COVID-19 earlier.
The remaining 21 cases are all Egyptian nationals who contracted the disease from an Egyptian infected with the virus.
All of them are currently under isolation in Makkah.
Meanwhile, the ministry also announced the recovery of the first case of COVID-19 in the Kingdom.
