Senator Ronald Bato Dela Rosa revealed that his United States visa has been cancelled.
Dela Rosa said that he received the information last January 20 after filing an inquiry to the embassy.
Dela Rosa said that it was not clear when his visa was revoked but he was told that he can apply for a new one.
“No date given basta mag apply lang daw ako uli kung gusto ko kasi the present visa was cancelled,” he added.
Dela Rosa previously admitted that he was hesitant to visit the United States because he might be denied entry.
Dela Rosa believes that his visa cancellation might be rooted from his role in alleged extra-judicial killings when he was still the chief of the Philippine National Police.
Early this year, United States President Donald Trump signed a budget bill with a provision of banning Philippine officials from entering the US over the wrongful detention of senator Leila De Lima.
