At the height of her singing career Kapamilya singer Sheryn Regis revealed that she had to step out of the limelight because she discovered that she has cancer.
The singer said it was in 2016 when she found out she has thyroid cancer.
“Kailangan ko sumailalim sa surgery but delikado siya kasi yung nerve na tatamaan pwedeng mawala ang voice ko,” she said.
The singer gained popularity in the singing competition Star in a Million in 2003 with Erik Santos.
Regis said that she decided not to inform everyone about her condition because she’s afraid that she could no longer get singing jobs.
“Nung nagduet kami ni Jona noong 2016, I have to admit na hirap na hirap ako noon, hindi ko lang sinabi,” she added.
When asked if she’s already better, Regis said that she’s not completely healed but the ‘Come in out of the Rain’ singer believes that she’s cancer free. (TT)
