Town mayor accused of infecting woman with STD

A MAYOR in one of the towns in Laguna province is facing possible charges on accusation that he infected a woman with a sexually transmitted disease (STD).

A woman is planning to file cases against Cavinti mayor Milbert Oliveros before the Office of the Ombudsman for violating the

Anti-Violence Against Women and Children law and immoral conduct in violation of the Code of Conduct for Public Officials.

The complainant, name withheld for security reasons, accused the mayor of impregnating her but she suffered a miscarriage in July due to the disease she acquired.

The woman also accused the mayor of being a womanizer.

Oliveros denied the accusations, saying the complainant is out to extort money from him.

The woman is insisting that politics has nothing to do with the cases that she plans to file against the mayor. The cases are expected to be filed on August 1.

The Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) is assisting the woman in the case.
