Flooding in UAE valleys after heavy downpour on Sunday

At least three valleys in Ras Al Khaimah were flooded on Sunday afternoon following a heavy downpour.

Videos shared by the UAE Weather on their Instagram account showed flooded roads there.

Residents shared that it was the Masafi valley that was mostly flooded, followed by Asafni and Shawkah valleys in the rain that started at 3:30 pm and lasted until 4:30 pm, as per a report from Khaleej Times.

With this, the RAK Police has advised motorists to drive extra carefully by reducing their speed and maintaining a safe distance from other vehicles. They also asked drivers to avoid the valleys and mountainous areas due to unstable weather conditions.

Tankers and pumps have been deployed to clear roads of any accumulated water.

According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), weather on Monday and Tuesday may most likely be fair to partly cloudy with a probability of rain.

Visibility will remain low due to the wind-blown sand and dust during the daytime until Wednesday.
