UAE to impose up to Dh 10,000 fine for violation of new toll regulations

Abu Dhabi is set to implement its new toll system later this year, and with it comes a new set of traffic fines and rules drivers must strictly follow.

Abu Dhabi’s Department of Transport (DoT) has announced its new toll system which means that motorists going in and out of the capital will pass through toll gates starting October.

Unregistered vehicles will be fined if they pass through the toll system with Dh100 for the first day until it reaches the maximum Dh10,000.

Vehicles who will also cross the toll gates without a sufficient toll balance will also be subjected to fines.

Tampering with license plates of registered vehicles are also subject to Dh10,000. The same penalty amount goes to damaging any e-toll equipment.
