Kapamilya actress Dimples Romana said Daniela Mondragon is the “most iconic” role she ever had, and she is very happy that netizens popularized the character by creating funny memes on the villain.
Daniela is one of the lead characters in ABS-CBN’s hit televisions series Kadenang Ginto, which also reaches Filipinos overseas via TFC.
“I’m just so happy. Lahat naman ng ginawa ko sinuportahan ng mga tao (the people supported all the roles I played),” Romana said in an interview with DZMM on Saturday morning.
“Ito (Daniela Mondragon) na ata ang pinaka-iconic na character na nagawa ko kasi umabot na kung saan-saan (Daniela Mondragon is perhaps the most iconic character I made because she reached many places),” she added.
This week, funny Daniela memes flood the news feed of Filipino Facebook users. The memes show Daniela in a red outfit and pulling a red luggage while walking in many places.
Romana is thankful to the show’s fans for taking time to create Daniela memes as these further popularize Kadenang Ginto in the Philippines and overseas.
“That’s what I love talaga. Ang hirap kayang mag-edit ng picture. Ibig sabihin pag nag-eedit sila, nagbibigay sila ng oras, panahon (It is hard to edit a picture. It means they really took time just to edit),” she said.
“Biruin mo may mga lugar sa Pilipinas na napuntahan ng meme ko na hindi ko alam…Feeling ko mascot na ako eh! Habang naglalakad ako hinahanapan nila ako ng maleta! Naglalakad ako ng ABS kailangan may maleta (Imagine, my meme reached many destinations in the Philippines that I don’t even know…I feel like a mascot! While walking people are looking for my luggage! I have to pull a luggage while walking in ABS-CBN compound)!” she said in jest.
