DUBAI: Basketball, the Philippines’ national pastime has crossed oceans and landed in Dubai where easily eight of 10 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) are ito the sport.
Weekends are for matches rolled out by dozens of tournament organizations, among them the United OFW Basketball League whose recent matches saw action between four teams – San Juan Barakos who slugged it out against Porridge and won, 68 – 51; and the Uragons of Bicol who beat Solyda, 63-46.
