Asia’s Phoenix Morissette Amon took to Instagram to share her joy and gratitude after meeting Hollywood star Will Smith and award-winning composer Alan Menken.
It can be recalled that Amon travelled to Tokyo, Japan to meet Smith and Menken as part of the international promotion of the live-action reboot of “Aladdin”.
Smith played the wish-granting Genie in the modern adaptation, while Menken composed all songs in the movie including, “One Jump Ahead”, “Friend Like Me”, and the classic “A Whole New World”.
The video of their interview was uploaded on Disney Philippines’ YouTube channel and has since became one of the trending videos in the Philippines.
After the video was released, Amon uploaded a photo on her Instagram saying she was overwhelmed with excitement after meeting Smith and Menken that it was difficult for her to keep it a secret.
She recalled she had to make a quick trip to Japan for the interview and went back to the US in less than 24 hours.
“Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine getting to meet the award-winning composer behind a lot of Disney films including A Whole New World, Mr. Alan Menken and the incredible Will Smith playing the Genie in the live action remake of Aladdin! What a great honor,” she said.
Amon also gave a shout-out to Broadway singer Lea Salonga who provided the singing voice of Princess Jasmine in the original animated version of “Aladdin” and introduced her to Menken.
