This story has gone viral in social media after netizen, Mara Karmela, uploaded a post recalling her experience on witnessing a random act of kindness from a foreigner to a boy who sells sampaguita on the streets.
Karmela’s Facebook post is relatively short but she was able to tell the story of the man who bought the vendor a pair of brand new Nike shoes worth P6,000.
“In exchange for the shoes, the kid gave him all the sampaguita he was selling. (Naiyak po ako ng slight.) The foreigner said why don’t you wear the shoes already, to which the kid replied: “Hindi po pwede. Baka kunin ng mga bata,” the story update read.
After paying for the footwear, she also heard the foreigner asking the cashier where the nearest clothing store was.
While Karmela was able to get a photo of the man and the boy in the shoe shop, she, unfortunately, was no longer able to follow them to buy clothes for the latter.
