A novel technology for mass detection of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has been adopted by the UAE, the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) announced.
The equipment invented by a local company, QuantLase Imaging Lab, uses DPI laser-based technique to “mass detect virus-caused inflammation in blood samples with seconds”, according to MOHAP.
Those who will test positive for COVID-19 thru this rapid test, will immediately have to undergo PCR testing or the so-called swab test.

The technology will help the country to attain mass screening on a wider scale.
Earlier in June, the country announced that it plans to test additional two million people in the next two months.
As of July 13, the country reported a total of 55,198 COVID-19 cases with 334 new cases on Monday. Of this number, 45,513 people have recovered while 334 have died.
