COVID-19 cases jumps to 707, death toll now at 48 in PH

The Department of Health in the Philippines confirms that the confirmed of the coronavirus disease or COVID-19 in the country is now at 707.
 
The health department also confirmed that there are now 7 fatalities, which brings the total to 45. 
There are two new recoveries in the country which increases the total recoveries to 28. 
 
In a media briefing, Health Secretary Francisco Duque said that the country has increased testing capacity for COVID-19 that is why it is expected to see a surge of cases. 
 
Duque also appeared for the first time in the media briefing since he put himself under isolation after being exposed to a person who tested positive for COVID-19.
“Nais ko rin sabihin sa inyo bagamat nakalipas na ang 14 days nagdesisyon akong magpatuloy na magtrabaho sa bahay habang pinapagaling ko ang aking ubo dahil ako ay asthmatic,” Duque said. 
 
Among the newest cases of COVID-19 is Senator Sonny Angara. He is the third senator who tested positive for the virus.
