China paid tribute to these unsung heroes through social media, sharing images of how their appearance beneath the masks magnify their struggle and sacrifices since the spread of the disease.

In the photos shared by People’s Daily, nurses were seen with sore marks from wearing tight masks and protective gears after 12 hours of work.
China has mobilized its doctors, nurses, emergency response workers, police, and military to assist in the battle against COVID-19.
