The pilot of an airplane that was headed to Jamaica had to return to Toronto Canada after passenger announced he had coronavirus, Reuters reported.
The incident occurred onboard a WestJet Airlines that was headed to Montego Bay.
The man, a police spokeswoman said, claimed that he came from a trip to China and had coronavirus.
The 29-year-old man was checked by medical staff, who concluded that he did not have the coronavirus.
He was then arrested and charged with mischief and will appear in court on March 9.
As of Wednesday, China reported there were 490 deaths and more than and more than 20,000 confirmed cases.
