The city government of Manila announced Thursday distribution of 500,000 face masks for students in the capital amid the spread of the novel coronavirus or 2019-nCoV.
The Philippines reported its first casualty from novel coronavirus.
More than 150 enforcers from the city’s traffic bureau worked overnight to repack half a million face masks.

The face masks are scheduled to be distributed to all public elementary and high schools in the nation’s capital.
The city government also donated 6,200 face masks to San Lazaro Hospital, where the first confirmed case of 2019-nCoV is isolated.
