A 2-year-old child died after being hit by a car outside a Dubai hotel on Sunday.
Brig Abdullah Khadim Al-Maasim, Director of Bur Dubai Police Station, told The National that the driver was unable to avoid the child who suddenly walked out from the hotel and crossed the road.
The girl was staying with her family at the hotel which was not disclosed by the authorities.
The victim was rushed to hospital but died due to ‘severe injuries’ sustained from the incident.
It prompted the police to remind the parents to closely monitor their children at all times.
“Parents need to pay closer attention to their children, mainly near exits leading to roads or in areas that witness heavy traffic like around schools,” Brig Al-Maasim was quoted to have said.
Investigation is ongoing.
