Elizabeth Gokongwei has passed away, a week after her billionaire husband John Gokongwei Jr. died. She was 85 years old.
Her death was confirmed by their family members. The couple left 6 children.
“Our mother, Elizabeth Yu Gokongwei, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 16, 2019, one week after the death of our father, John Gokongwei, Jr., her husband of 61 years,” the family said in a statement to the media.
The Gokongwei family also said that the wake will be held private.
Gokongwei’s JG Summit Holdings has different companies on transportation, food, retail, real estate and banking.
