 512 undocumented foreigners arrested in a raid in Pasay

More than 500 undocumented foreigners were arrested in an operation against an illegal business process outsourcing (BPO) company in Paranaque City last Oct. 9.

A report by the Philippine News Agency said there was a total of 512 foreigner  arrested for telecommunications fraud. These include 418 Chinese, 19 Vietnamese, 26 Malaysians, one Indonesian, four Taiwanese, and 44 Burmese.
They were arrested by joint operatives of the Bureau of Immigration (BI), National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Regional Special Operations Unit (RSOU), and the Armed Forces of the Philippines in coordination with the Chinese embassy.
They were holding operations on the Golden Unicom Technology, Inc. on the 7th Floor of Millennium Building on NAIA Road.
Then NCRPO Director Guillermo Eleazar said these foreigners were engaged in offshore telecommunications investment fraud victimizing a lot of Chinese nationals to invest in fraudulent businesses.
Also, they were working without work permits, officials said.
BI Commissioner Jaime Morente warned illegal aliens who are in the country to follow laws or face deportation.
