President Rodrigo Duterte revealed that his youngest daughter Veronica “Kitty” Duterte has contracted dengue.
This is the reason why he had to hurry home after arriving from Moscow yesterday, according to a report of The Philippine Star.
“I have to go see Kitty. She has dengue. But she is already on the safe level,” the President was quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, his common-law-wife Honeylet Avanceña is in Germany for an engagement with the Department of Trade and Industry but she is reportedly cutting short her trip.
Kitty is among the 891,000 children who got shots of the controversial Dengvaxia vaccine.
Last August, the Department of Health (DOH) declared a national dengue epidemic in the wake of the 146,062 cases recorded since January up to July 20 this year, 98% higher than the same period in 2018. There were 622 deaths.
