Expo 2020 Dubai to be “the best expo” in history

UAE Prime Minister and Vice President, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum promised the emirate would hold the best Expo in its 168-year history.

He, alongside Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan, recently visited and inspected infrastructure works at the Expo 2020 site.

Their visit marked the 450-day countdown to the opening of the Expo 2020 Dubai in October 2020, where 195 countries will participate.

“We are ready and remain true to our promise of presenting the best Expo edition in its 168-year-old history,” he said in a tweet on Tuesday, Aug. 13.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, Director-General of the Department of Protocols and Hospitality in Dubai also visited the Expo 2020 Office in Dubai South.

They were received by Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director-General of Expo 2020 Dubai Bureau, and several senior officials, according to state news agency WAM.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed was briefed by Al Hashemy about the progress of the projects, as well as the awareness and promotional programs and plans drafted by the office to promote the expo, which is expected to receive over 25 million visitors from around the world.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed expressed how satisfied he is at the progress of the projects and praised the efforts of the expo’s working team of Emirati youths, led by Al Hashemy.

He urged all national authorities, especially those in Dubai to intensify their efforts to make the expo succeed.

“We must all work hard to achieve success. Whatever people achieve without hard work, they lose without regret,” he said.

The expo will present a bright image of the UAE and its people, and become a global cultural platform for all countries to showcase their cultures, heritage, histories and national products.
