Sen. Bato apologizes on ‘s*** happens’ remark, claims wrong choice of words

Senator Ronald ‘Bato’ Dela Rosa has apologized on his ‘*glaring word* happens’ remark on the killing of a three-year-old kid in a drug buy-bust operation last week.

Dela Rosa admitted that he made a wrong choice of word on the issue in an interview with ABS-CBN.

“I will recall my word. Instead of ‘s**t’ let us change it to ‘unfortunate incident’ (happens),” Dela Rosa said.

The senator said sorry to the family of the victim and the remark should’ve been said only to the police community and not to the public.

He also clarified his statement, which only meant to say that there’s no such thing as a perfect police operation.

“If you do not have complete control of the operational environment, something bad will always happen,” he added.

Dela Rosa also clarified that he never said that the three-year-old kid was collateral damage in the government’s war on drugs.

Dela Rosa was a former Philippine National Chief.
