Trainer plane reported missing in Occidental Mindoro

A Filipino pilot and his student, a Saudi Arabian citizen onboard a twin-engine Beechcraft Baron aircraft, were reported missing in the province of Occidental Mindoro, according to a DZBB radio report.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) spokesman Eric Apolonio said on Saturday that the aircraft,  owned by Orient Aviation Corp., was bound for San Jose Airport 8:30 a.m. on Friday.

It was last seen 16 nautical miles south of San Jose town.

Search and rescue teams from the Philippine Air Force, Philippine Navy, and the Philippine Coast Guard and a private jet have been deployed to the area.
