Barbecue banned in this popular UAE tourist spot

Barbecue is now banned at one of the UAE’s most popular tourist spots, Jebel Hafeet Mountain, the Al Ain Municipality announced.

The order was released following reports of abuse from visitors who failed to dispose of their charcoal and garbage properly. Some visitors also burned wooden seats and benches at the mountain.

The municipality, however, clarified that barbecue will still be allowed in open and desert areas in the emirate including Al Sulaimi and Al Mebrazah parks.

Those who will opt to do so are advised to observe cleanliness and proper hygiene when having barbecue with family or friends.

Authorities will be deployed in the area to monitor violators who will be asked to pay a fine.
