An Asian man has appealed his death sentence after being accused of murdering his neighbor and trying to rape his wife.
According to Emarat Al Youm, the man had trespassed his neighbor’s apartment and tried to sexually harass the woman. She eagerly called her husband, who came with two of his workmates and fought with the accused. The accused then stabbed him thirteen times using a knife.
In defense of the accused, his lawyer Naser Al Shamsi said he had no intention of raping the woman, and that he only visited her upon her invitation.
While he was at her place, he heard his son crying so he tried to leave to check on the baby. However, the woman got mad and tried to stop him from leaving which led to a fight.
The woman’s husband came with two of his mates and attacked the accused. To defend himself, the man stabbed the woman’s husband.
Medical reports show that the man was also injured in the fight.
Forensic analysts said it is possible that more than one person stabbed the victim.
The lawyer demanded for the acquittal of his client. The verdict is set to be delivered by Abu Dhabi appeals court on November 13.
