Air-conditioned walkway to connect Dubai Metro station to mall, tower

The Dubai Multi-Commodities Centre (DMCC) on Tuesday, September 4, confirmed plans to build air-conditioned walkways connecting Dubai Metro station in Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT) to Almas Tower and Uptown Dubai.

Ahmad bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman of DMCC, said that the walkways will allow Dubai Metro passengers to go from the two locations to Dubai Metro, and vice versa, without stepping outdoors, thus easing their transport experience, reported Gulf News.

DMCC said that the move will be in partnership with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will help achieve JLT’s goal in making the community a “smart district”.

Details on the walkway have yet to be released although it is believed that it will be similar to the walkways built in Ibn Battuta Metro station.
