The sole survivor of the Filipino family involved in a car crash on a highway in Townsend, Delaware has been discharged from the hospital and has been moved to a rehabilitation center for further treatment.
Filipina Mary Rose Ballocanag was the only survivor in a car accident that took the lives of her husband, 61-year-old Audie, and four daughters – 20-year-old Kaitlyn, 17-year-old Danna, and two 14-year-olds, Melissa and Allison.
Ballocanag remains bedridden due to the injuries she sustained from the crash but is expected to get better with treatment, reported Balitang America.
Ballocanag and her relatives will hold a funeral for the Filipina’s deceased family members once she feels better.
On July 6, Delaware State Police reported that the Ballocanag’s vehicle was traversing the northbound lane of State Route 1 Highway (Rt.1) around 3:47 in the afternoon when a 2007 Ford F-350 truck on the southbound lane “exited the roadway, crossing over the grassy-median and into the northbound lanes” crashing into the Filipino family’s 1998 Toyota Sienna car and a 2002 Mercury Sable car.
The driver and passenger of the truck were rushed to a hospital to receive treatment, however, no charges have been filed against the driver identified as 44-year-old Alvin Hubbard.
