Three were killed while eight others sustained injuries in a crash in Dubai, involving a minibus and a truck on Monday, July 16.
Director of the Traffic Department in Dubai Police, Brigadier Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, said the collision happened along Emirates Road in the direction of Sharjah, near the Maliha road exit around 1 in the afternoon.
Citing initial reports, Al Mazroui said the minibus crashed into the truck after not “maintaining a safe distance” between each other.
Al Mazroui said that among the eight who sustained injuries, two sustained severe injuries while the remaining six sustained moderate injuries.
Meanwhile, the police have yet to disclose the identity or nationality of those killed.
Police patrols and ambulances were immediately deployed to the scene of the incident and rushed the victims to the hospital.
“Drivers should be careful when [driving] on highways and leave safe distance between vehicles,” Al Mazroui reminded motorists.
