Family of illegal recruiters nabbed in Manila

The Manila Police District’s intelligence operations unit arrested a man and his family after discovering they were harboring 41 women during a raid in Sta. Cruz, Manila.

The 41 women, some of them minors, were recruited from Mindanao and were offered to work as domestic helpers in Saudi Arabia, reported PhilStar.

Tor Bella, his daughter, and granddaughter were placed under arrest after the police found documents connecting the three to illegal recruitment.

Apart from illegal recruitment, they were also charged with serious illegal detention.

The women were made to stay in Bella’s accommodation house and would have been brought to Talentsphere Inc in Malate, Manila to send them abroad.
