VIRAL: Man fakes ‘tokhang’ arrest to propose to girlfriend

A Filipino man set up a ‘tokhang arrest’ act to surprise his girlfriend with his proposal for marriage.

According to Caryl Anadon, her family with his then boyfriend Rolf Vacalares Jr. were celebrating her birthday when a man in uniform entered their house to arrest Vacalares on charge of having an “illegal” substance inside his bag.

In the viral video, Vacalares is seen arguing with the man in uniform. He was also asked to kneel on the floor.

Anadon hurriedly went to the police where the policeman handed her the “search warrant” for the arrest.

Anadon was in surprise upon reading the “search warrant” which contained the words, “Will you marry me?”

Vacalares, still kneeling on the floor, gave Anadon the engagement ring and popped the question to which she responded yes.

“Nabigla ako, ‘ano ‘yon, bakit siya hinuhuli ng pulis?’ Natakot talaga ako, ang dugo ko parang umakyat sa ulo ko kasi birthday na birthday ko may hinuhuli, siya pa talaga,” Anadon said.

Vacalares had been preparing the proposal for three years with his cousin and Anadon’s uncle.

The couple plans to get married on December this year.

As of writing, the viral video has 1.4 million views on Facebook with more than 21 thousand likes and shares.
