Passengers of the UAE’s national carrier, Etihad Airways, can now bring laptops and other electronic devices aboard Abu Dhabi to US flights.
The Department of Homeland Security lifted the laptop ban for Etihad’s Abu Dhabi to US flight services after the airline company fulfilled the US requirements for increased security on flights.
The airline implemented a tightened screening procedure at Abu Dhabi International Airport. The airport also houses a Customs and Border Protection station where US-bound passengers are screened.
Etihad, which flies 45 times a week to six U.S. cities, welcomed the exemption from the laptop and electronic devices ban on its flight going to the U.S.
