Sharjah Police arrest suspect for using e-cigarettes to distribute drugs

Sharjah Police have arrested an Asian man accused of operating a home-based drug packaging facility, where narcotics were concealed in e-cigarette cartridges for distribution.

The arrest followed surveillance operations by the Anti-Narcotics Department, which confirmed the suspect’s involvement in preparing illegal substances for sale.

Brigadier Majid Sultan Al Asam said the suspect had converted his residence into a small-scale “factory,” manually filling vape cartridges with narcotic substances and packaging them to resemble commercial products.

“The suspect used sophisticated methods to disguise illegal substances and promote them as regular vaping products,” Al Asam said.

Police raided the residence and seized ready-to-distribute cartridges, along with tools and equipment used in the operation.

Authorities said the case reflects evolving tactics in drug trafficking, where illegal substances are concealed in everyday consumer items.

Al Asam warned that drugs pose a serious threat to public safety, particularly among young people.

“Law enforcement agencies will show zero tolerance toward anyone involved in promoting or distributing narcotics in any form,” he said.

Sharjah Police also urged families to remain vigilant, noting that early signs of drug exposure may include sudden behavioral changes, isolation, and declining performance in school.

Authorities encouraged the public to report suspicious activities through official channels, stressing that community cooperation is key to preventing drug-related crimes.
