Two vessels carrying Filipino crew members have safely exited the Strait of Hormuz after being stranded in the Persian Gulf due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
The ships, identified as Omicron Nikos and Nord, were carrying a total of 36 Filipino seafarers on board.
The Department of Migrant Workers said the development brings the total number of Filipino crew members safely moved out of the strait to nearly 1,200.
Authorities continue to monitor vessel movements in the region while coordinating with manning agencies and shipowners to ensure the safety and welfare of Filipino seafarers.
Officials added that communication lines remain open with affected workers and their families as the situation in the region evolves.
