UAE defence ministry to roll out AI-driven digital transformation projects

The UAE Ministry of Defence is set to launch an integrated package of digital transformation and artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives aimed at modernizing its operational systems and strengthening defense readiness.

The program, introduced under the directives of the country’s leadership, will be overseen by the Office of the Assistant Minister of State for Digital Transformation, Technology and Artificial Intelligence, in coordination with key strategic partners.

According to the ministry, the initiative seeks to accelerate the adoption of advanced digital technologies across the defense sector, enhancing efficiency and aligning operations with the goals of the UAE Digital Transformation Strategy 2031.

Central to the program is the integration of AI into planning and data analysis processes, alongside the development of advanced systems designed to improve resource management across defense operations.

The ministry said the projects will also strengthen its capability to respond more effectively to evolving security and technological challenges at both domestic and international levels.

Officials added that the initiative forms part of a broader strategy to upgrade digital infrastructure, embed AI across defense systems, and build national expertise to lead future transformation efforts.

Once implemented, the projects are expected to further position the UAE armed forces among leading institutions globally in adopting advanced defense technologies.
