The House of Representatives and the Senate are looking at May 27-28 to proclaim the winning president and vice-president in the May 9 polls.
House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco and Senate President Vicente Sotto III shared this forecast on Monday during a press briefing.

“We can actually promise that we’ll get to finish everything by June,” Velasco said.
The speaker added that 5-7 days of canvassing may be too long.
“This time it’s gonna be computerized. So you won’t see anymore white boards, manual tallies,” he said.

Velasco explained that unlike previous elections, the canvassing of votes will not be done manually.
The Senate wants to start the session on May 24 while the lower house will start the session on May 23.
