PH to start nationwide vaccination among minors starting November 5

The country will start the vaccination of minors nationwide beginning November 5 according to the Department of Health.

Health spokesperson Maria Rosario Vergeire said that guidelines are currently being drafted.

So far the government has started inoculating children with comorbidities aged 12-17 years old.

Vergeire said that it has inoculated 9,928 children with health risks.

The children were given Pfizer and Moderna vaccines which have emergency use approval from the Food and Drug Administration.

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez said that they will open on October 29 pediatric vaccination in up to 50 more hospitals nationwide in addition to the 28 already providing shots for minors.

Galvez adds that all regions will take part in the expanded vaccination drive.

The official said that with the expanded inoculation, the government will hopefully meet its target of administering 1.5 million shots per day by November 15. (TDT)
