Isko Moreno ‘no regrets’ in using ‘yellowtard’ term vs. critics

Manila Mayor and presidential aspirant Isko Moreno is not backing down on using the word ‘yellowtard’ against some of his critics.

Moreno drew flak online for calling the supporters of Vice President Leni Robredo as ‘yellowtards’ which is in reference to the color of Robredo’s Liberal party.

“No. I don’t regret anything. I was just being honest in answering a question,” Moreno told ABS-CBN News.

“If I offended them, I am sorry. I don’t like sugarcoating in a challenging time. This is not about Mr. and Ms. Congeniality. Pasensya na kayo kung hindi ninyo nagustuhan ang tono ko,” he added.

Some supporters claim that they were turned off with Moreno’s remarks and even branding him that he is like President Rodrigo Duterte,

“Sometimes, it may be offending, but it’s not meant to offend. When you answer it directly, it doesn’t mean na bastos ka na, magaspang ka na,” he explained.

The Manila mayor said that supporters like him because of his straightforwardness.

“If they are really my supporters, they are supporters. Kaya siguro naniwala sila sa akin kasi ganito ako: fact-based, results matter. When it’s real, it’s hurtful. Truth hurts… It is not about pleasing your ears in governance,” the presidential aspirant said. (TDT)
