Only fully vaccinated college students to be allowed on university campuses in UAE

The UAE government has said that it will allow only fully vaccinated university students to attend on-campus education.

Students excluded from vaccination will be allowed to attend the campus learning based on the official medical report and need to present a COVID-19 PCR test weekly.

The authorities further announced that students of all educational levels would be required to obtain a negative PCR test result of no more than 96 hours.

National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority’s official spokesman Dr. Saif Al Dhaheri, said there has been “a noticeable decrease in the number of COVID-19 cases.”

He added that children in the age group of 4-12 years must conduct (PCR) test or saliva examination monthly, whether they are vaccinated or not, and distance learning was also available to them as well.

The unvaccinated students of 12-18 years will be given a period of 30 days, starting from the first school day to take the vaccine and during this period, all vaccinated and unvaccinated students of this age group must present a PCR test every two weeks.

After the time of 30 days, all students aged 12 years and above who received two doses of the vaccine and completed 14 days from the second dose, will have to conduct a PCR test monthly.

The unvaccinated students between 12-18 years of age and those who are excluded from vaccination, must undergo PCR tests weekly. (AW)
