Three Asian men were jailed for a year followed by deportation and fined AED4,000 for robbing a pharmacy in Dubai.
The Dubai Court of Appeal upheld the ruling of the Court of First Instance which finds the three men guilty of robbery and assault. Court records showed that three men entered a pharmacy in Riqqa area.

One of the perpetrators asked the pharmacist on duty that time about a certain medicine.
The man then threatened the pharmacist with a knife while the latter was opening the cash box.
The second man then sprinkled chili powder on the victim’s face and the third man entered the store and attacked him.

The pharmacist told the court the perpetrators wounded him with the knife before fleeing the pharmacy stealing AED4,000 from the cash box.
The victim was able to report the incident to authorities which prompted the Criminal Investigation Department at the Dubai Police to launch a probe.
The three were identified later and subsequently arrested. (RA)
