French President Emmanuel Macron was slapped in the face during his visit to the Drome region in south-eastern France on Tuesday.
Macron earlier met restaurateurs and students to discuss how to return to normal after the pandemic.

In a video that went viral on social media, Macron could be seen walking towards a crowd behind a metal barrier.
Macron then reached his hand to greet a man green shirt, with glasses and a face mask.
The man shouted “A Bas La Macronie”, which translates to “Down with Macronia” before slapping the French President. “Macronie” is a pejorative term used in the French press for Macron’s presidency.

The security detail was quick to tackle the man to the ground.
According to a Reuters report, two people were arrested in relation to the incident. (RA)
