The organizer of the Maginhawa Community Pantry slammed the question of a GMA News reporter for asking her if she is linked to communist groups.

Ana Patricia Non slammed the question for being malicious and could potentially put her safety at risk since red-tagging is a threat.

“The last thing I need to explain sa mga tao ay kung sino ba ako, kasi malinaw ang intensyon ko,” Non said.

Non explained that such accusations do not only endanger the lives of organizers, but also affect individuals who are benefiting from the initiative.

“Kung wala po kayong iaambag sa mga tao at hindi niyo sila kikilalanin, mas mabuti na lang pong huwag tayong magsalita ng ganitong mga bagay, kasi ilang pamilya po ‘yung maaapektuhan e,” she added.

Malacañang, the Interior Department, and the Philippine National Police claimed that there is nothing wrong with the setting up of community pantries. (TDT)
