The Abu Dhabi Police confirmed that an explosion took place at a restaurant in Airport Road earlier on August 31.
“A report was received in the operations room this morning about an explosion in a restaurant, and immediately the Rapid Intervention Teams moved to the Al Falah Center in the Emergency Directorate and Public Safety in Abu Dhabi Police,” said the statement.

Officials affirmed the public that all individuals who have sustained minor to medium injuries have all been taken to the nearest hospitals to get immediate medical treatment.
Authorities are currently investigating and confirming if it was a gas leak that led to the explosion. Evacuation procedures are on going as of this post to ensure the safety of all residents near the area.

“The teams are currently carrying out their tasks in safely evacuating the residents from the building and surrounding the place to ensure the safety of the public,” said the statement.
