Senator Zubiri tests positive for COVID-19 for second time

Philippine Senator Migz Zubiri tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) once again after his swab test confirms the presence of the virus in his system.

The senator also warned that the three rapid tests he took that initially showed he was negative for the coronavirus. He shared that his doctor states that the presence of the coronavirus in his system might possibly be remnants of the dead virus cells since he is a COVID-19 survivor.

“I decided to forego any other appointments and head back to my isolation room for quarantine. I had myself swabbed again by the Philippine Redcross this afternoon just for confirmation and im hoping that its a negative result there to confirm what our infectious disease experts told me earlier,” said Senator Zubiri.

The Senator was supposed to attend President Duterte’s SONA presentation at the Batasang Pambansa Complex but decided to go back to isolation.

“I feel absolutely fine, wala po akong nararamdaman at wala po akong mga symptoma. But its better to be safe and to keep everyone safe from this virus,” said the senator.
