TFT debuts 6th Anniversary jingle ‘We Are Where You Are’

A new melody is blowing in the wind, which casts the spotlight wider for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in the Middle East and spreads the feeling of home in our midst.

The Filipino Times (TFT), UAE’s biggest Filipino newspaper and the largest digital platform for Filipinos in the region, has debuted a jingle entitled “We Are Where You Are” in celebration of its 6th Anniversary.

The lyrics of the song captures the newspaper’s unwavering passion in serving the Filipino community. It stands as a hub of credible news and information that bridges millions of OFWs and their families. Every note and melody tugs at the heartstrings of OFWs as it captures Filipinos’ deep sense of community through thick and thin.

Vince Ang, TFT General Manager, said the jingle was born out of the newspapers’ resolve to stay true to its promise of being a news platform that brings OFWs closer to home, wherever they may be.

“The year 2019 is a special year for TFT as we reap the fruits not only of our success but also of the very positive results of our ongoing efforts to empower Filipinos anywhere in the world. In fact, in 2017, we had set up our first Manila office in Ortigas to give our readers a wider coverage, scope, and perspective,” Ang shared.

He added that, “As part of this celebration, we have launched our jingle ‘We Are Where You Are’, accompanied by TFT‘s anniversary video showing how the duty of people behind the company transcends beyond work.”

The jingle was produced in collaboration with British composer Andrew Kay, who had also worked with Filipino singers like Jessa Zaragoza. His aim is to develop more world-class Filipino talents in the UAE, one of whom is Filipina singer Grei C who sang the TFT jingle.

Its two-minute music video features the people behind the newspaper, remarkable stories, and programs such as TFT Lifestyle TV and TFT Newsbreak. It also highlights The Filipino Times Awards and Philippine Property Investment Exhibition (PPIE).

TFT was first launched as a news magazine in 2013 by Dr. Karen Remo, Co-Founder and Managing Director of New Perspective Media, TFT’s publisher. Since then, the newspaper has become the largest platform for Filipinos in the UAE with a print run of 60,000 copies and 250,000 readership per week. It has also expanded digitally which was bolstered by 2 million website visitors monthly generating over 6 million impressions every month. Today, it is now one of the most followed news agencies on social media.

Due to the variety of content and credibility, TFT is also gaining popularity among Filipinos across the globe. What’s more? Ang also mentioned that “regional news tab” is recently added on the TFT website to cater to the increasing followers from other countries in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

“We are very happy that TFT is getting the recognition it deserves as the number of followers from other GCC countries like Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Kuwait increases every day. We assure that TFT will continue to live up to its purpose,” Ang said.

Watch the premiere of “We Are Where You Are” on TFT‘s official Facebook page on Friday, 10AM.
