Miss Planet International Philippines Herlene Budol safely made it to Uganda in time for her competition but not her national costume.
Budol said that the main body of her costume has yet to arrive in the African country after some challenges at the airport.
“Pag dating ng airport ayaw ipakarga kesyo over size daw. Then no choice na rin kami at hinayaan nalang namin chinop-chop nila at binaklas buong box,” she said.
“Ang masaklap yung pinaka body ng costume hindi nakarating ng Uganda,” she added.
The beauty queen was in distress since airport staff told her that the rest of her costume will arrive in night time.
“Pero 2:30 a. m. na at wala na silang paramdam,” she said, calling on Ethiopian Airlines for help.
Budol is Binibining Pilipinas’ 1st runner-up. After failing to secure a crown, her talent manager Wilbert Tolentino found a pageant for Budol to compete with.
The grand coronation night will happen on November 19.
