Controversial actress Julia Barretto celebrated her 23rd birthday on Tuesday, March 10.
On her Instagram post, the young star who was involved in several controversies last year wants ‘freedom’ in the next chapter of her life.
“23. In this chapter in my life, I am FREE. Free to speak. Free to act. Free to feel. Free to love,” she wrote.
Her mother, Marjorie Barretto, also took to social media her greeting on her daughter’s special day.

“I learned so much about you and the person you have become, just by witnessing you overcome trials and judgements, pain of losing a loved one (Pikey) with so much strength and grace,” Marjorie wrote.
Marjorie also called Julia strong, brave and determined to overcome everything.
“You shut off from the outside world, worked harder than ever, focused on the goal, stayed close to me and your siblings, chose your battles and became wiser in choosing your circle of friends,” she said.

Julia was tagged as the third party in the controversial break up of Bea Alonzo and Gerald Anderson last year.
She was also accused of insulting and hurting her aunt Claudine during her grandfather’s wake.
