Jobert Sucaldito files illegal dismissal case vs. DZMM

Showbiz columnist and radio host Jobert Sucaldito filed a complaint against the management of DZMM and station manager Mariah Capuyan on the Department of Labor and Employment over his dismissal.
Sucaldito was indefinitely suspended by the radio network last January after his controversial remarks about Nadine Lustre’s mental health condition on his radio program Showbuzz.

In an interview with PEP.ph, he expressed his dismay with DZMM.
“I’ve been working with ABS for twenty years and seventeen years of which I was with DZMM,” he said.
“Tapos ganyan-ganyan? Sipain niyo ako just because of the trolls, yung mga fans na nagrereklamo? Asan mga puso niyo? Tatanggalan niyo ako ng trabaho, di ba,” Sucaldito asked.
Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, Sucaldito’s lawyer stressed that his client’s indefinite suspension without pay is not fair and tantamount to constructive dismissal.
“That’s not fair, kasi may kontrata siya na kare-renew lang niya nung January. It’s a year contract,” he said.
“Not only it is unfair to Jobert (Sucaldito), it is a violation of labor laws.”
