PH oldest grandma, ‘Lola Igna’ wins big at Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino Awards

The heartwarming story of a 118 year-old grandmother named “Lola Igna” won the judges’ hearts at the recently held Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino Awards.

The film tells the story of an old woman’s wish to be with her husband in the next life. This is Eduardo Roy Jr.’s tribute to all grandparents out there.

“Lola Igna” bagged the Best Picture award, together with lead star Angie Ferro winning the Best Actress award for the titular role. The film also won Best Screenplay and Best Musical Score.

Khalil Ramos and Gabbi Garcia’s Last Song Syndrome (LSS) managed to win a number of awards including Best Original Song, Best Sound Design and Audience Choice Award.

Tuesday Vargas won the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in ‘LSS’.

Martin del Rosario on the other hand won the Best Actor award for his role in ‘The Panti Sisters’. The film also won an Audience Choice Award.

Best Supporting Actor for “I’m Ellenya L.” went to Gio Alvarez. The film was top-billed by Maris Racal and Iñigo Pascual.
