Enjoy timeless OPM hits at ‘90s Upload Concert

A few weeks more and Dubai will be enjoying the music jam of the year as five of the Philippines’ timeless hitmakers will perform for their fans in the UAE! The upcoming ‘90s Upload concert organized by La Verdad Events Management is set to take place at the Dubai World Trade Center this December 28.

Here are the five artists who will be featured:

Cooky Chua

Cooky Chua, the lead singer of Color it Red, started their band in 1989 while she was still in high school. Color It Red is known for their hit songs such as “Na Naman”, and “Paglisan” which eventually led to their debut album release “Hand Painted Sky” that went platinum.

Glenn Jacinto

Glenn Jacinto, the frontman of the band Teeth, was formed in 1993 when Pinoy alternative rock bands were at its peak. Their iconic song – ‘Laklak’ has since been one the unofficial anthem for Filipinos during parties and other gatherings. Teeth’s ‘Prinsesa’ has also been at the charts and has seen several renditions through almost two decades.

Lei Bautista

Lei Bautista leads the all-female band, Prettier Than Pink which was launched and went to the professional scene back in 1991. Known for their hit song “Cool Ka Lang” – the song became the national anthem for those stuck in difficult situations, like the traffic jams back at the busy streets of Manila.

Naldy Padilla

Naldy Padilla is the frontman of the band Orient Pearl that launched in 1994. From the songs that they have released, they’re known for their hit song “Pagsubok” that tells a story of the struggles and trials of most Filipinos – and motivates them to not give up and push themselves further towards a better future.

Wency Cornejo

Wency Cornejo leads the band AfterImage that was launched in the 1990s. Their hit songs include “Habang May Buhay”, “Mangarap Ka”, “Next In Line” and more. After Wency Cornejo went solo, he has since released songs such as ‘Magpakailanman’, the theme song of the popular GMA-7 show of the same title, ‘Hanggang’ and many more.
